Concrete wood posts or not

The fence companies that install a quality product do poured concrete footings on each post. Leaving the lower 10" to 12" bottom of the post tamped in with dirt or gravel and pouring a concrete footing for the balance that will give you the best result.  Sterling Fence Inc. uses a 9' long post on a 6' high wood fence to leave 30" to 36" of post in the ground.

Fence repair, wood fence repair, chain link fence repair

The Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area was hit by a large thunderhead on June 21st, 2013. The first night of summer brought heavy winds up to 73 miles per hour near Buffalo, MN. Other areas like Eden Prairie and Lake Elmo experienced wind speeds around 55 miles per hour. These winds were powerful enough to knock down power lines and trees in the effected areas.

There were many chain link and wood fences that were damaged during this storm. Sterling Fence Inc. repairs both chain link and wood fences. We also do post replacements on wood fences. Most of the time with wood fencing the fence itself is in good condition its only the posts that need to be replaced to reattach the sections. A much cheaper fix for the owners.

New housing activitiy affect fence sales

According to the Minneapolis Area Association of Realtors the median sales price for a home in Minneapolis, Minn., improved annually for the 12th consecutive month in February, indicating strong and sustainable growth.

The start of 2013 showed several trends, including improved pending purchase activity, inventory declines, higher prices and less activity in the distressed market.

In February, there were 2,736 closed home sales, down 4.7% from a year earlier. The number of homes for sale dropped 31.6% to 12,202 active listings. This represents the lowest number since January 2003.

Pending sales totaled 3,689 in February, up 2.0% from the year before. The median sales price jumped 15.5% to $160,000.

"We’re watching seller activity almost more than buyer activity," said Andy Fazendin, president of MAAR. "Bank listing activity is down while traditional seller activity is up." That’s encouraging.

Sterling Fence Inc. has seen increased sales due to new home purchases. Many people who move into a new home need wood fence, chain link fence or ornamenal fence aroudn their yards for security and safety when they have children or dogs, Sterling Fence Inc, can provide this.
